Dragon Nest SEA Open Beta Interview | Open Beta Dragon Nest SEA | SEA Dragon Nest Open Beta

I'm glad to have this opportunity to do an interview with Shanda Games. First of all, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Hi, I am Addison Kang, Producer of Dragon Nest SEA. Beside directing our flagship title, I'm also the Vice-President of Shanda Games International managing the company's business & operations outside of China.

Dragon Nest has received a good reputation from all over the world. What makes the game so popular in your opinion?
The developers at Eyedentity, the makers of Dragon Nest are a bunch of amazing people. The fact that they have created the 'Eternity' engine allows for exceptional graphics performance even on low-end PCs, have allowed for a wider demographics of gamers being able to enjoy console experience on PC.

Many players complain about the gender lock in Dragon Nest. What do you think in this respect?
We are always listening to players' constructive feedback and passing them on to the developers at Eyedentity. It's a choice between expanding vertically-creating deeper content or horizontally-creating multiplying the characters creation. If it's something that the majority of the fans want, and doesn't disrupts the gameplay within, who knows! Eyedentity have doubled their developer headcount to over 200 this year alone. So there are still a lot of surprises that Dragon Nest players can look forward to.

Dragon Nest SEA will launch its open beta soon. So, what new content can players expect from this test?
There are certainly plenty of new contents that Dragon Nest players can look forward to. One of my personal favorites is the Affinity System, which allows players to forge friendships with NPCs to gain discounts when purchasing items or services from them. Additionally there is also the Guild System, where players can at last form guilds, recruit members and tackle tougher dungeons together. The Cash Shop and Trading House will also be introduced.

Will Dragon Nest SEA make available a fatigue system in its OBT?
Why stop when you can go on? Instead of stopping, we give players our blessing! Dragon Nest will adopt an exclusive feature called the 'Altea Blessing Points' or ABP system, which gives players blessings and bonus EXP from the great Goddess Altea.

Dragon Nest has conducted many updates in China. How will Dragon Nest SEA catch up with the game's Chinese version, even the Korean version? Will Shanda Games help accelerate the release of new game content in South East Asia?
Dragon Nest SEA's development phase is now set on an acceleration mode. We expect Dragon Nest SEA content updates to match the same timeframe as China's within the first half of 2012.
Dragon Nest
Nice talking to you! What else do you want to share with Dragon Nest fans before we conclude the interview?
Thank you for this interview too! There are currently over 60 Million players worldwide enjoying Dragon Nest. Dragon Nest is also honored to be the world's no.1 MO Action RPG, and I believe it's exactly that unique action role-playing gameplay that makes it so popular with MO fans. We look forward to seeing you in Lagendia!

Thank you very much!
